Idyllic country retreat
The farmhouse dates from the 17th Century and is south-facing, built of stone under a slate roof. It is in a quiet and secluded position at the end of a private tarmac lane and has ample parking.
The farmhouse accommodation consists of:
A family suite and a twin-bedded room furnished country style, the main bedrooms having washbasins and tea-trays. Only one family at a time can be accommodated at Harton Farm, so whether you are two or six people, the bathroom and additional WC are all yours, and are not shared with anyone else
A fully equipped bathroom with a view – early risers may see the wild red deer in West Meadow from here.
An additional WC
A character dining room with two separate tables
A comfortable, cosy sitting room with TV, visitor information on what to see and do, and flowers
There are log fires downstairs, electric fires upstairs and hot water bottles on request.
The food – ‘Hearty and wholesome’ is our motto – in short, real food. The day starts with a full English breakfast and the three-course evening meal is at 7.30pm. Home cooking is our speciality and it includes bread and ice-cream. All the vegetables are home grown and pesticide free, and the lamb, pork, beef and game are home or locally produced without additives. Roasts, proper puddings and traditional dishes feature strongly on our menus, alongside more uncommon fare such as the very popular sorrel soup, pheasant, and chocolate mousse with crystallised borage flowers. Vegetarian, though not vegan, food is also available.
A holiday or short break in Devon at Harton Farm is a unique countryside experience offering you peace and tranquillity
